Top UK Travel Ideas For 2016

You don’t have to travel across the world to have a great time. Sometimes, the best trips are right under your nose! S and I have just booked another getaway to climb mount Snowdon for my birthday, after swooning over pictures of Cwm Idwal . There’s a few other places I want to visit this year, so I’ve popped together some of the top UK travel ideas for the new year.

For The Thrill Seekers

Some people like to have a lot of excitement in their lives. For them, a trip isn’t about relaxing, it’s about having as much fun as possible. They want to go away and have an adrenaline fuelled time! Luckily, you’ll find lots of exciting travel ideas in the UK that fit this description. Think about taking a trip to a theme park like Alton Towers. There are loads of fast and exciting rides for you to enjoy over and over again.

There’s also accommodation on-site, meaning you can stay for as long as you like. It’s home to some of the fastest roller coasters in the UK and is renowned as one of the best theme parks around. An ideal place for thrill seekers that want to go on a trip that’s a little more fast paced than usual! I think it’s the perfect place to go on a bank holiday weekend if you’re up for a serious adrenaline boost.

For Romantic Couples

For those lovely couples out there you’ll find plenty of awesome romantic travel ideas in the UK. One of the most popular ideas is taking a trip to a nice cabin or lodge in a romantic location. There are loads of lovely lodges situated in incredibly scenic places around the UK. It doesn’t get better than lying beside a roaring fire with your partner. Loads of cabins and lodges are self-catered, so you can whip up a romantic meal for two as well!

😱➡️  3 Tips for Planning the Perfect Winter Break

It’s the perfect idea for a Valentine’s Day gift that you’ll both enjoy. You could go for a weekend or book an entire week off work and make it a mini holiday. Either way, it’s a great way for you to travel and share a lovely experience with a loved one. Definitely my number one pick for romantic getaways this year.

For Tourists

Sometimes, you just want to go on a short trip and be a tourist for a few days. Even if you live in the UK, you can still be a tourist somewhere. The top destination is, obviously, London. If you’ve never been to London before, I recommend you go! It’s the perfect place to act like a tourist and see some of the iconic sights and scenes. There’s Buckingham Palace, The Houses Of Parliament and The London Eye too!

Also, London is home to many other amazing attractions; there’s something for everyone. It will take more than a day to explore the city properly; I can tell you that. Great for families that want to have a nice break and travel away from home for a few days.

And there you have it, the top travel ideas for 2016 in the UK. The next time you want to go on a little trip, give one of these ideas a go!

  • We’re so lucky in the UK as there are so many fabulous places to visit. My recommendations are Great Langdale in the Lake District and St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall

  • I live quite close to London but I’ve never done the touristy thing! I might treat my mum to a day & night so we can be tourists for the day
