Occasionally I get invitations to attend events for bloggers and press when a company is launching a new product or store. Unfortunately, I have to decline the champagne and canapes, because I’m based down in Cornwall and almost all events are in London.
It’s too much of a trek for me, and I work full-time, so I can’t always get away. A trip to London (train tickets, hotel and food) usually equates to almost the same as a short break abroad, so I don’t go up often!
Anyway, when I received an invite for a private event to mark the launch of the Stable restaurant over-looking Fistral beach in Newquay, I was pumped! Furthermore, after a little nosey online, I found out that the Stable serves, pizza, pies and cider – by this point, I’m already completely smitten!
The evening was gorgeous, partly because I was in the company of my old colleagues from the marketing agency I recently left. Greeted with a drink, we had a gossip and filled our tummies with pizza that was being woofed under our noses by members of staff.
It was the first time I’d ever had salmon on pizza, and certainly won’t be my last. They had lots of quirky recipes, you can view the menu online here.
The view was stunning and even when sitting inside you could appreciate it through the gigantic glass windows. The balcony was massive, so despite the evening being super busy, there was more than enough room for everyone to enjoy the fresh air.
We stayed for a few slices, a couple of drinks and the speech before heading off, accompanied by a goodie bag full of cider, a cider t-shirt and more little gifts in a canvas bag. I’ll certainly be returning on a sunny day for pizza and cider to watch the sun go down.
