JBL Live Pro+ TWS Noise Cancelling Headphones Review

Wherever I go, I always have a pair of headphones with me, without fail. I grew up walking everywhere, and to this day, I walk far more than drive. Generally, if it’s under an hour for me to get there by foot, I won’t bother getting in the car. There’s something so therapeutic about sticking your headphones in and losing yourself in a playlist.

I’ve recently been using the JBL Live Pro+ TWS headphones, and whilst sceptical at first, I’m completely sold. Here’s why I’m obsessed with these fast-charging, noise-cancelling headphones, and why they are my new no.1 headphones:

Fast wireless charging

Let’s cut to the chase of why I was hesitant to buy into wireless headphones… Whilst they look great, and the thought of not getting tangled in wires was appealing, I couldn’t get on board with the fact I’d always have to charge my headphones. I could see myself leaving to pop into town, only to realise my headphones were out of charge.

This is when I found out that JBL Live Pro + holds up to 28 hours of battery life with 7 hours playback, which was significantly more than I anticipated. I certainly wouldn’t need to pop them on charge every night. Heck – probably not even once a week. Best of all? The earbuds get a 1-hour charge after 10 minutes in their case. This has been a lifesaver when I’m rushing out the door.

Water Resistance

As somebody that spends most of their time in the ocean (when not sleeping or working), waterproof technology is a must. Even if you’re not a slave to the sea like I am, there is peace of mind that your earbuds aren’t going to give up the ghost after encountering a splash of water.

The JBL headphones are IPX4 water-resistant, which means they can be submerged up to 1 meter in water for 30 minutes. Whilst I don’t intend to dunk my earbuds underwater, I don’t worry if I’m caught wearing them in torrential rain or my water bottle leaks in my bag.

Noise Cancelling Setting

The Adaptive Noise Cancelling means zero distractions when I just want to listen to my music and not be interrupted (perfect for housework days or when using public transport). On the other hand, when I’m out running, I can use the app to switch to Smart Ambient, which sharpens the sound of your surroundings, so you can hear the world around you.

The sound quality is exceptional with great bass, and I think this experience is partly due to the noise-cancelling settings.

The noise-cancelling option is also useful on calls too. The earbuds have dual beamforming mics to capture your voice and the third mic for environmental noise reduction. These are my go-to if I’m working from home and have a client-call, but need to drown out the noise of my barking Jack Russell in the background.

Everything else

They’re super lightweight whilst still having a great solid feel to them. It’s easy to connect it to your phone (minimal faffing), and best of all, there are no wires that can accidentally go missing when you need to charge the case! Just plonk it on your Qi wireless charger and you’re good to go.

I don’t miss getting tangled in headphone wires and I’ve become accustomed to being able to control my music and calls just by tapping my earbuds with my finger. They’re undoubtedly the best sound quality headphones I’ve owned so these are an essential staple in my backpack.
