Ever since we got engaged earlier this year, I’ve found myself in a sea of wedding inspiration on Pinterest and Instagram. With our Save the Date cards going out in the next couple of months, I’ve been looking at different wedding invitations styles.

You can actually find and browse through thousands of invitation styles and designs that you can turn into your own creative masterpiece. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for traditional invites templates or if you want modern and contemporary invitation styles – there is something out there for just about everyone to choose from.

😱➡️  Consider the Following Before Inviting Your Guests To Your Wedding

People always harp on about how difficult and stressful it is planning a wedding. I’m not sure what everybody is talking about… you can find invitation styles for every type of wedding, whether it is being hosted by both sets of parents, divorced parents alone or together, the couple, everyone, or one set of parents.

Turns out picking a pretty-looking wedding invitation, info slip and RSVP card isn’t the difficult bit. My Mother-in-Law recently tied the knot (Congratulations Mr and Mrs Spearman! 🎉💕) and she really struggled to get people to get people to return their RSVP. Doesn’t sound like the end of the world, but when it came to table planning and ordering catering, stress-levels began to rise!

😱➡️  4 things to discuss when planning a wedding

Here are some tips on how to increase your RSVP response rate:

  • RSVP timing is super important – give your guests at least 4 weeks to avoid people putting your invitation in the “things to deal with later” pile.
  • Include a postage stamp on a pre-addressed envelope to make it as easy as possible for guests to return the RSVP card.
  • Send a Save the Date about 9 months earlier for destination weddings, allowing people to start clearing vacation time from work and looking for travel deals.
  • Provide alternate ways to RSVP. You can use a wedding website, an email address, or even a telephone number for an informal wedding.
  • Have an engaging call to action or participation factor included on the response card. For example, RSVP with a song that will keep you on the dance floor or RSVP with your favourite memory of the bride and groom.
  • There’s no shame in casually asking guests if they got the invitation. You can even say, “I hope you’re coming! We can’t wait to get your rsvp card back!” Sometimes close friends weirdly think that they don’t have to reply because “of course” you’ll know they’ll be there.
