A little while ago now, but on valentines day and I was undoubtedly treated like a princess. M picked me up from work with two dozen red roses in a beautiful handmade vase, a bottle of Heidieck Pipers (Brut) champagne and took me out for dinner at a stunning restaurant in Falmouth, Olivers. I had been to Olivers (located up the high street, opposite the old court yard) a couple years ago and had chicken wrapped in porchetta ham and mozzarella; it was to die for.
We arrived after having a tipple of champagne, and I ordered a scallop salad for starter and a venison steak for main from the specials, M ordered the same starter as me and a fillet steak served with hand cut chunky chips; washed down with some organic local cider. The starter and mains were served in a timely manner despite the restaurant being busy due to it being Valentines day and the staff were welcoming and attentive.
The steaks were cooked perfectly as requested and the starter was gorgeous! I’d recommend Olivers to anyone in the Falmouth area, however book in advance to avoid disappointment. M wanted to surprise me on Christmas eve by taking me to there but apparently they book up months in advance.
