In case you haven’t already noticed, I’m a sucker for jewellery, watches and anything sparkly! It can sometimes be challenging to find rings avaliable in my size, and I’m quite fussy, so my collection is fairly sparse.
Contary, when Michael and I went away to Benidorm I found a gorgeous princess cut purple gem set in a gold band. Instantly, I fell in love! I saw the price and my heart sank, it was €14 – usually you’d think that’s great, but I knew that it would only be a matter of time before my gorgeous souvenir from our first holiday together would soon chip and tarnish to some shoddy metal.
Regardless, Michael bought it for me anyway as after all, even if it only lasted a short while, it was only the same price as a few bevvys! Additionally, he surprised me with a beautiful rose gold and pearl rosary beads necklace as a souviner at the end of our trip, so I was well and truely spoilt! Anyway, that’s a different story.. swiftly moving back to the princess cut rose gold ring..
Roughly 4 – 5 months later after our holiday, I came across Gemporia when scourering the internet for something pretty. I found a gorgeous 9k rose gold 1.57cts ring almost identicle to the ring that I fell in love with when in Alicante.
Granted, the ring was oval and slightly different to the ring I saw on holiday, but it was even more beautiful! The shade was perfect and oval stones are complimentary to my small hands. The band was rose gold, but this was perfect as the majority of my watches are rose gold – it had to be fate!
Minas gerais kunzite ring in 9k rose gold 1.57cts is avaliable for £219 from the Jacque Christie collection. Made in Brazil, the Canary Kunzite ranks amongst one of the rarest gemstones ever discovered!
I was also amazed to find out that it’s been tagged as a romantic treasure, as if you wear the ring outdoors and then go into a dark room, the gem will retain energy from the sun and for a short period of time will glow in the dark. Incredible, huh? So adorable! This unique natural occurrence in nature is referred to as phosphorescence.
The ring is isn’t too heavy but does have a bit of weight to it, giving it a quality feel. The ring arrived polished and in a small white bag, however Gemporia have a variety of gift box options available on their website for each ring. As you can see from the image, the stone is an impressive size, enough to make a statement without being too dramatic. I’m wearing a size 6 in the photograph below. You’ll have to excuse my pale hands, unfortunately, England doesn’t have nearly as much sunshine as Spain!
Additionally, all the images in this post were taken on my Canon 550D with a Macro lens and the exposure was enhanced on Photoshop. I thought it was important to provide my own images of the ring, as a close up, as well as on my hand, to show what the product genuinely looked like when I received it.
It’s great looking at stock photographs on the internet but sometimes when you’re investing in something expensive, it’s nice to have a ‘real’ image to get that bit more detail.
I’d certainly recommend this little gem to anyone looking for something pretty to add to their jewellery collection. xo
