5 Things To Do With Your Mum In 2019 ❤️

It’s true that there’s no greater bond than the one between a mother and her children. She helped you to grow, nurtured you, and helped to mould you into the person you are today. You might have had your ups and downs, but that’s only made your relationship stronger. But now you’re fully grown, how about reconnecting?

Now you’re an adult, you and your mums are equals and best friends. So, how about putting some time aside to spend just with her? I’ve spent so much quality time with my mum recently doing lots of wedding planning, it’s been he best. Here are some super fun and simple ways you can spend time with your mum and hopefully make a regular thing of it!

5 things to do with your mum in 2019 ❤️ | UK Lifestyle Blog

Treat yourselves to an afternoon tea

There’s no getting away from it: afternoon teas are a British thing. Which means that we do some of the best in the world! Beautifully cut sandwiches, delicately filled with deliciously, light fillings. Thick slices of the most indulgent cakes and cream filled pastries topped with fresh fruit. Select the backdrop of a country hotel, a countryside vista or even just in your favourite café in town. There’s nothing better than catching up and spending time together over a cup of tea and a cream cake (or two). Bliss.

Have some heavy-duty pampering

You both lead busy lives, and everyone deserves the chance to relax, unwind and forget about the outside world for a while. So, with that in mind, why not treat mum and yourself to an afternoon at a local spa. A session in the sauna, a few lengths in the pool and a much needed soak in the jacuzzi. Not forgetting the treatments of offer. You’ll both feel a million dollars.

Join forces in the kitchen

You’ve probably learnt everything you know about cooking from your mum. So, why not get together and make a feast for the whole family. Plan a range of dishes and work together to make it all from scratch. It’s a lovely way to spend time together, chat and learn from each other!

Check out some old photographs

I recently asked my nana if she had any photos of her parents I could look at. Purely because I’d never seen any before! What followed was 4 hours of sifting through piles and piles of black and white images from times gone by. The different clothes, styles and images were an incredible window into her childhood. We also enjoyed looking at and comparing photos of my younger self too! So dig out all those old photo albums and take a trip down memory lane together.

Play a board game

Who didn’t play board games with their mum on a rainy Sunday? The difference these days is that you can play games that are age-appropriate for both of you – sorry Operation fans! Sit down together and enjoy a game of scrabble or something guaranteed to make you both giggle. Break out the snacks and a bottle of wine and you’re guaranteed a great night in each other’s company.

Go on a shopping spree together

Hands down, your mother’s tastes and impeccable style can give any fashionista a run for her money. Besides, who could possibly be a more supportive and honest shopping buddy?

Thanks mum, love you ❤️
