I stopped posting on Instagram for a year, and recently made a come back (you can follow me here, cheeky plug!). Just because I wasn’t snapping though, didn’t mean I wasn’t tapping still swiping through and following people.

If you love lingerie, mountains, bunnies and Scandinavian decor, then you’d probably LOVE my Instagram feed! So I’ve decided to put together my favourite Instagram accounts I swipe through in the morning for a bit of daily inspiration, so you can follow them too!

Occasionally, I like it when someone tells me “Hey, you got it wrong” – I do. I believe that positive criticism is the greatest gift one can give/receive. Heck, even a negative one can be valuable if you know how to deal with it and transform it from a demoralising experience into an opportunity for self-improvement.

As bloggers, we cannot afford to dismiss any criticism, no matter how trivial it is. Remember that the person reviewing your work is also a part of your audience. We will never be able to please everyone, that’s true, but by evaluating their feedbacks we can create a picture of what needs our attention and which we may have to live with.

Why we need to embrace a little bit of criticism | UK Lifestyle Blog
New Balance WR996 Grey / White from newbalance.co.uk

Recently, I received some criticism of my blog. My first reaction was “How come I’ve missed that?”. I learned that, listening to others is worth the effort because it helps you realise what you can’t by yourself. I wouldn’t have notice these design flaws or the fact that I need to keep posts more open to discussions if it wasn’t for this bit of criticism. This is why criticism is necessary: it helps us grow.

I appreciate it when someone criticizes my work, especially when well deserved, because I care about providing the best experience possible for my readers when they visit my blog. The best thing I can do about criticism is assume that it’s valid and work harder next time. Underestimating it would only lead to failure.

However, dealing with criticism is quite a challenge. If you’re not a patience person, you will find yourself having a hard time taking negative feedbacks. Aiming for success requires doing everything within your means to achieve that, including listening to others. So, patience and tolerance are key.

So, let’s say I’m not really patient. How should I handle critics? Listen what they have to say. If criticisms are unfounded and based on speculations, then simply ignore them. Otherwise, do some good listening, solve the problems and improve what needs to be improved.

We’re all exposed to criticism. Even in the real life scenario. How do you handle it?

Q&A: 32 Random Questions | UK Lifestyle Blog

Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed? What a crazy question. Of course I keep them close – it’d look incredibly messy else.

Do you take shampoo and conditioner bottles from hotels? That depends, I don’t usually steal them because I’ve got enough shampoos, conditioners and soap at home thanks to my shopaholic attitude.

Have you ever stolen a street sign? I haven’t, and it really annoys me when people do. Show some respect.

Do you cut out coupons and then never use them? I don’t – but I do acquire them.

Do you always smile for pictures? Yes, I have a weird head tilt as well – it’s an insecurity thing.

Do you ever count your steps when you walk? I don’t. Perhaps I should though when we go on our week long hike in Scotland.

Do you still watch cartoons? Occasionally the odd episode of Family Guy but I don’t tend to watch a lot of cartoons. I don’t watch a great deal of television anyway – unless I’m binging a series on Netflix.

What do you drink with dinner? Water, always.

What do you dip a chicken nugget in? Dip? No, chicken is for salads – not dipping.

What movies could you watch over and over and still love? Titanic.

Would you ever strip or pose nude in a magazine? Depends. Dazed and Confused, yes. Nuts, no.

Can you change the oil on your car? I know how to check it, if that counts?

Have you ever gotten a speeding ticket? Nope!

Afraid of heights? I thought I was but a couple of years ago I did a sky dive and ever since I’ve changed my mind. I don’t think I’m afraid of heights, I think I’m afraid of falling to my death.

Do you sing in the car? I do and it’s really terrible! Honestly, just ask my singing coach.

Is Christmas stressful? No, Christmas is the BEST.

Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of bees? A bear, I guess. Bees absolutely terrify me. Whilst bears do as well, it’d be pretty

incredible to be that close to a bear.. weird, I know!

Do you believe in ghosts? No, of course not.

Nike or Adidas? No brainer, Nike – just look at my wardrobe.

Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out? Out. I can’t stand being tucked in, it makes me feel super claustrophobic. I also don’t like
not being able to stick my feet out of the side of the bed when I’m too warm.

Have you ever cried because you were so happy? Yes, the day I moved into my house I cried like a baby!

Can you knit of crochet? I learnt to knit a while ago but I haven’t done crochet before.

Strawberry Squeeze is almost 3 years old, and in that time, it’s completely changed my life. I’ve met some incredible people, been on some wild adventures and learnt so much. I love writing on my website (in case you haven’t noticed, now that, there are over 450+ posts published on here now).

Why I'm starting a journal: Every Tuesday | UK Lifestyle Blog

Sadly, I’ve felt like, through no fault but my own, I’ve lost myself in my writing. One of the most popular posts of all time, with ample of engagement, is ‘tips for growing your hair long‘. Whilst his is great, I feel like my voice has been swallowed up and subsequently, I’ve decided to create this category to take that section of my blog back.

You’ll still find all the usual content on my website, from our mini breaks to my home decor shopping hauls! But I’ve dedicated this little spot to typing with absolute freedom. This might be as boring as what I’ve done at the weekend, or what’s really grinding my gear. Whatever it is, I hope to see you checking in, every Tuesday at 5pm!

Okay, the title is slightly off, it’s not what I did at the weekend that just gone, but the one previous – but who’s counting? It was S’s birthday and since we’ve been working so hard on the house recently getting it ready for Christmas, he deserved a lovely weekend to completely relax, eat until he was sick and be showered in gifts. What are girlfriends for, huh?

What I did at the weekend | UK Lifestyle Blog

I booked off Monday and Tuesday, so we had an extra long weekend and made sure to stock up on lots of blueberries, bacon and pancakes. Bliss! With Christmas fast approaching, decking out the house with new furniture and planning trips to South East Asia together, it meant money was tighter than usual and we’ve been staying in quite a lot recently, so I wanted to surprise S with something different.

Saturday we cleared our Trello lists (because we are incapable of just relaxing sometimes), and so that we could truly just switch off and relax for the rest of the weekend, whilst still feeling productive. We patted ourselves on the back with a walk the plank sharing platter at the Brigg in Falmouth – which was incredible!

We were served a Rum BBQ Beef Brisket, Rum & Raisin Ribs, Shredded Lamb Shoulder, Smoked Haddock & Cornish Crab Fritters, Sesame Battered King Prawns, Crusty Bread, Hand Cut Chips & Sweet Potato Wedges, Rosemary Buttered Corn Cobs, Mixed Leaves & dips! All washed down with an Apple Pie cocktail, which is Spiced Rum, Vanilla vodka, Cloudy Apple and Lemon Juices with Raisin and Ginger Gomme, yum!

Sunday we lazed around the house with slightly hazy heads, we worked on some really exciting blog stuff (coming soon!) too! We went out for dinner again! With a belly full of pizza I told S he couldn’t drink anymore, because in the morning we were off for a surprise!

In the morning I whisked S off to Bedruthan Hotel and Spa, he had no idea where we were going until I got lost on the way there and he guessed! I’m not even entirely sure how I got lost, but hey ho! Once we arrived we had tapas before making our way to their spa. I could get used to these Mondays.

What I did at the weekend | UK Lifestyle Blog

The spa overlooks spectacular sea views that we swooned over whilst relaxing in the deep and luxurious hydro pool after basking in the cedar and lavender caldarium saunas (yes, two saunas!). Unfortunately the eucalyptus steam room was out of service, but to be honest, we barely noticed! Completely relaxed, we made our way back from the North coast of Cornwall.

I surprised S in the morning with presents and coffee, very bitty coffee. Turns out your meant to be the coffee UNDERNEATH the filter – oops! No one teaches you these things.. Regardless, S absolutely loved his Daniel Wellington watch, peanut butter chocolate and Kraken rum. We pulled on our wellies and took the dogs for a walk at Cardinham Woods, Bodmin.

It was truly beautiful, the tall trees towering over us and the crisp air felt like we could have been anywhere in the world. Even when it started raining, the dogs started escaping from their harnesses and it was pitch black, we still managed to find the funny side of it.

Once we got home, cleaned the pups and warmed up, we made homemade sushi. We had both been wanting to make our own sushi since we met, but everywhere we tried to get a table or inquired about booking lessons were either full, too far away or not open. Turns out making sushi is HARD. I blame the instructions being vague, and not the processco, white wine or bottle of rum that impacted the outcome. We made smoked salmon & avocado, and tuna cress & spring onion sushi rolls.

It’s been an intense couple of weeks, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. If you’ve been following my posts you’ll see I’ve just bought a lovely new build, 5 minutes from the beach in Cornwall. Although I was lucky enough to just move in, there has been a lot of decorating and plenty of mooching around in the garden enjoying the sunshine.

June: So far... | UK Lifestyle Blog

I’ll be putting up more posts about my house in the next couple of days, but I’ve been so busy putting together the best photographs and writing about what we’ve been doing in the house and garden – it’s been a real treat. Stay tuned, the reveal post is looming!

We will be offline for a week as of Tuesday though, as I’ve booked a surprise holiday for my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday! He’s been talking about wanting to go to Copenhagen for months, but I told him with everything happening in the house, we would have to post-pone. Little did he know, I’ve been scheming!!

We are leaving to stay with his family for a couple of nights in Brighton before I whisk him away! He had absolutely no idea until the weekend, when I just couldn’t wait any longer and told him! He said he kind of guessed anyway, apparently I’m not very good at being subtle!

Once we are back, there will just be one weekend before I bring our Petal home. As you can probably imagine, my site will probably be full of images of the little cutie. She’s absolutely adorable! My other half is already concerned with all the rabbit forums I’m always on, but I’m sure he will understand when he holds her on our return!

Have I lost you yet? We are only a few weeks in.. it appears that buying a house, going on holiday and bringing home a bunny all within a few weeks wasn’t enough money spent – I splashed out on some gorgeous new wheels too! I managed to pick up this steal from my bosses girlfriend, to replace my run down old Saxo. I LOVE my new VW polo!
